Facilities Maintenance Operative

An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Fabrinet UK for a Facilities Operative to join our Facilities Team

Reporting to the QESH Manager, the primary function of this role is to assist in the general upkeep of the building and installation of machinery/equipment and production cells. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the cleaning activities as required (e.g. power cleaning of floors etc.)
  • Performing minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps in walls, painting etc
  • Maintaining the garden/perimeter and hedge trimming, removal of waste etc
  • Conducting maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and standard test (i.e. PAT testing) etc
  • Checking functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm, emergency lighting tests etc.)
  • Collaborating with workers and other professionals during renovations
  • Assisting in the installation of machinery, equipment and new production cells

With the relevant experience and training, the Facilities Operative will also undertake the additional responsibilities as below:

  • Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
  • Checking control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Installing machinery and equipment

This list is not exhaustive and in addition to these duties and responsibilities, the Facilities Operative may be required to carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential

  • Experience using hand and electrical tools
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Attention to detail, finisher/completer
  • Tenacity and the desire to succeed
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
