Manufacturing Associate (Surface Mount)

We are looking for an additional Manufacturing Associate to join our production team, reporting to the Shift Team Leader and Manufacturing Manager

The main purpose of this role is to effectively run and operate all machines used for the SMT manufacturing process and pre-production preparation

Key responsibilities include:- 

  • Main priority is to keep the SMT machines running and producing products of an acceptable quality level
  • Read route card/job pack prior to production and build according to the current specification
  • Load a job – DEK, BTU, Mydata setup tooling – DEK, Siemens, Mydata BTU and adjust all conveyors
  • Follow first off procedure and do line checks
  • Feeder check with off-line kitter, another operator or with Team Leader
  • Report all technical or manufacturing problems to Team Leader and Engineering
  • Bare board baking and masking
  • Parts programming if necessary
  • Paste height check for each first off
  • Keep GRN numbers and follow MSD procedure
  • Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance with Maintenance Technician or Engineering
  • Follow escalation procedure
  • Be part of each NPI and ECN implementation
  • 5S and visual management
  • Lacing, de-kitting all setups, washing and serialisation boards
  • Using OEE
  • Attrition – when setup is completed all components which are in machine’s bins have to be removed and put back into trays (if quality is acceptable) if not put into ESD back and pass to store with setup name

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • Experience of running a Surface Mount Line
  • Good colour definition
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Methodical and logical approach to ensure accuracy of kits
  • Good IT skills
  • Good team player but can work on own initiative
  • “Can do” attitude
  • The ability to work flexibly when required including weekend working on occasions
