Business Development Manager

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team to maximise the profitable sales of the Company’s services/products and drive new business opportunities. This position will report to the VP of Business Development

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse opportunities and identify areas to develop the business with potential new customers
  • Support the development of the Company sales plan in liaison with the VP of Business Development
  • Maintain and develop an active customer prospect database to ensure a healthy sales pipeline
  • RFQ generation and support the quotation team to deliver a competitive quote to win the business
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by email, telephone, and personal visits
  • Develop an annual strategic sales plan incorporating sales forecasts for the new business pipeline
  • Report on sales forecasts, sales performance, market activity and trends monthly
  • Maintain status records of all enquiries and follow up actions
  • Maintain customer visit reports on a weekly basis
  • Recognise new market and technology opportunities and commercially guide the Company in the development of new customer wins
  • Drive new business opportunities through effective deployment of targeted marketing strategies and enhance Fabrinet’s service portfolio
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all customers and create a culture within the business where we develop strong partnership relationships
  • Exceed customer expectations by developing, implementing and maintaining the most efficient standards of customer service both in terms of quality and deliverables
  • Pro-active, professional approach in all customer dealings and ensure customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Fully comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure all activities meet organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, anti-bribery, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Attend all company meetings and training courses when required, this may involve short haul and long haul business trips
  • Co-Support Exhibitions and Networking events as and when required

Key Measures:

  • Delivery a min pipeline forecast of - £5.5/£6m in financial year
  • Drive Added Value and broad range of services to new customers
  • Quote and new Customer conversion
  • Accuracy and timeliness of information provided to the customer

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in new business development and technical sales
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Ability to engage and sell at CEO level
  • Excellent commercial skills and ability to close a deal successfully
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Computer literate and experience/good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional approach to work 
  • Flexible team player with a good sense of humour
  • Experience in fast moving manufacturing environment preferable
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Results orientated and personally driven to success
